EQSN Picks Up Prestigious Award

EQSN, one of Scotland's fastest growing technology companies, has won a leading industry award.

The company, which has a datacentre presence in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, beat competition from across Scotland and the North of England to win the Best Service from Host Provider category in the DADI (Drum Awards for Digital Industries) awards.

The awards are open to companies and individuals in the digital industries in Scotland and the English regions, and were judged this year by a panel including Chris Perry, joint managing director of DNA, and Franco Beschizza, team head of digital media, the Central Office of Information.

A spokesperson for the judges said: "The judging panel felt that EQSN offers a clear focus on systems management and hosting services which underpins the work of their high-value clients. In addition they were very impressed that EQSN has risen to the 3rd best Scottish Company in the 2006 Deloitte Technology Fast 50."

EQSN was named 33rd (3rd in Scotland) in the 2006 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the UK & Ireland.

It is one of the UK's market leaders in providing managed hosting and support services which ensure that customers' business-critical systems are secured and available 24/7 in their datacentres.

EQSN's customer base is made up of more than 80 high value clients including Large Corporates, SMEs, Government, Media, Financial Services, Manfacturing and Application Software As A Service (SAAS) Providers.

Google recently rated Scotsman.com, one of EQSN's media clients, as one of the Google top 30 worldwide news sources. Scotsman.com also won recognition as one of the first UK newspapers to generate original web tailored content and the first video podcast. It is responsible for reaching a peak of 21 million page impressions in a month (2004) and 3.4 million unique visitors (July 2006) - up from 4 million impressions and 400,000 unique visitors in 2001. The site also won Newspapers Society's New Media Award for Best Daily Newspaper Site in 2002, 2003 and 2006.

EQSN was founded in 2000 and now employs nine people with a turnover currently in excess of £1m per annum. The company expects growth to continue at the level it has experienced year on year to date.
